Franklin D. Roosevelt State Park
The day-use park at 2957 Crompond Road in Yorktown Heights. Picnic lawns, Mohansic Lake, Crom Pond, and a large pool. This is not the Roosevelt house in Hyde Park.

What to do
The trails and the lakes
Trails are open sunrise to sunset, year-round, and the gates close at sunset. Mohansic Lake and Crom Pond are the fishing and boating water. A state freshwater fishing license is required.
The pool
The page's anticipated pool season is for 2027: daily from June 29 through September 6, 10:00 am to 6:00 pm, last entry 5:30. Pool admission is $3 a person. It is not a 2026 swim.
Disc golf and fields
A 9- or 18-hole disc golf course sits near the picnic areas. Loaner discs are at the office for a refundable deposit. The page also lists two NCAA basketball courts, a soccer field, and sledding in winter.
A quieter time
The page does not say the lots fill. Lot 1, the commuter lot, is open weekdays from 6:00 am to 9:00 pm and follows park hours on weekends and holidays. That is a schedule, not a promise that it is empty.
Parking
The vehicle use fee is $10 per vehicle, and the page says it will be charged for the 2027 season from May 29 through September 6, 2027. The pool is extra. Check parks.ny.gov before you assume today's gate is free.
Dogs
Up to two pets in day-use areas, crated or on a leash no longer than 6 feet. Not in playgrounds, buildings, golf courses, boardwalks, pools, spray-grounds, or guarded beaches.
Swimming
The pool is the swim, and the dates on the page are for 2027. Boat rentals for 2026 were listed on weekends from May 24 to June 22 and daily from June 30 to September 1. That rental window is over.
Empire Pass
Franklin D. Roosevelt State Park is on the Empire Pass list. The pass does not waive swimming.
