What to do

  • The grounds

Gardens and grounds are open year-round, 8:30 am to sunset. The page names a cutting garden, a walled garden, and a wilderness garden with a fishpond.

  • The house

Tours are Thursday through Sunday, 11:00 am to 4:00 pm, on the hour, year-round. Adults $10. Seniors and students over 12 are $8. Children under 12 are free. The visitor center is open the same days, 10:30 am to 4:00 pm.

A quieter time

The $5 lot fee is collected on weekends and Monday holidays from April 1 through October 31, between 11:00 am and 4:00 pm, and at the gate for special events. The page does not say the lot fills. Weekday mornings outside those collection hours are when the page is not charging the lot.

Parking

Vehicle use fee is $5, on the schedule above. Check parks.ny.gov if a special event is on.

Swimming

The page does not list swimming.

Empire Pass

Clermont is on the Empire Pass list. The pass rules still say it does not waive historic-site admission, so the house tour is a separate ticket.
